The Australian Border Force (ABF) confirms a male detainee has passed away at Yongah Hill Immigration Detention Centre, Western Australia. We express our condolences to the man’s family and friends.

The ABF’s priority is the health and safety of all detainees and staff. The matter has been referred for investigation to the appropriate agencies. As this matter will be subject to ongoing investigation, it would not be appropriate to comment further.
